I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much we have appreciated the wonderful care our pets have received at Pets Companion Inn over the years. It's great to be able to go on vacation without having to worry about them while we're gone. Whenever we pull in the gravel driveway and Gus realizes where we are he starts madly wagging his tail and nearly pulls me inside. He can't wait to go to "camp." I think there can be no stronger testimonial than that. On one occasion when y'all were full and we took him to another kennel, he went in there with his tail between his legs and tried to run out the door. I wouldn't board my cockers anywhere else. Absolutely the best, most conscientious care I've ever found for my animals. I have been boarding my animals there since they opened, and I think they still have all the same staff as when they opened, which means they get to know their guests from one visit to the next. I feel like my dogs are visiting family when they are there. Pet's Companion Inn is one of the best things that has happened for our family. Our shih tzu, Abby, is so happy when we drive up their driveway, and she goes in to see all her friends on the staff. They are the most caring, helpful, knowledgeable and "tuned-in" animal people you could ever hope for. They pay attention to every detail of our dog's care - food, bedding, playtime, and all her adjustment needs. She receives individualized attention, and we are so comforted by the fact that there is ALWAYS someone there - 24 hours a day - living on-site, so that we don't have to worry about any risk of theft of our animal or other problems that could occur after-hours if no one is there. We use the Studio accommodations for our dog - since she is so small and really likes her bed and toys from home, as she is truly an "inside" girl. She loves the patio, and she feels comfortable in the home-like atmosphere.
Since we live in Chapel Hill now it's a good haul out to PCI, but it's worth it for the peace of mind.
Thanks for all you and your staff do.
However, if we had a big dog, we would be equally as comfortable with the traditional boarding option - especially having seen the large "play" area in the atrium. The staff really seems to enjoy all of the animals and their individual personalities, and there is a big sense of "fun" which makes a huge difference in how the animals are treated on a day-to-day basis. It is not a factory. And it is a really safe environment where the animals are not allowed to roam around in a "pack" atmosphere - which can be very dangerous. I really recommend that you call them and arrange to go out there for a complete tour, to meet the staff members, and to have your animal meet them, too. You will be so enchanted with the beautiful country surroundings and the magical atmosphere of this truly heart-centered place. We have boarded our dogs in other locations, but this is by far the BEST situation we have ever seen. It's the people, the philosophy of care that the animals receive, the fantastic facility, and the personal integrity of why they are in business. We feel lucky to have found it, and so does Abby.
